No job bills but House passes concealed weapons permit bill
No job bills but Republicans and some Democrats (looking at you Blue ones) have been paying back their debt to the National Rifle Association (NRA). The House passed a bill today allowing concealed weapon permits issue in one state to be valid in other.
Under the House legislation, people with a concealed carry permit in one state could carry a concealed weapon in every other state that gives people the right to carry concealed weapons. While states have various standards for issuing such permits, currently only Illinois and the District of Columbia prohibit the concealed carrying of weapons Associated Press).
And who are the cheif sponsors of this bill you migth be asking?
The chief sponsors of the concealed weapon measure, Stearns and Rep. Heath Shuler, D-N.C., said their proposal would not create a federal licensing system but merely require states to honor one another’s carry permits (Associated Press).
Yep, that Shuler- a Republican pretending to be a Democrat. What a surprise! When is it time to boot this clown out of office? Or maybe, he should just switch to the GOP and make it official.
Just imagine: this bill basically would allow crazy people from states with lax laws who have a permit to carry a concealed weapon in states (i.e. New York, California) that have the strictest gun laws in the county. As if California needs crazy people from, say, Florida
